Standard Features
SPECTRUM Analyser
The VibWire-201-Pro can be set to display real-time sensor spectra.
The Sensor Spectra are ideal for confirming the operation of a vibrating wire handheld device. A good quality sensor that has been correctly installed will show a high fundamental frequency and low harmonic content. The Spectra makes a simple diagnostic tool.
Data Recording
The instrument uses the VW201Cal Configuration software to assign and install all of the sensor calibration parameters that are used to convert the frequency measurements into SI units.
The VW201Cal software supports all 3rd party vibrating wire sensors offering 2 and 4 wire operations.
Sensor Ports
The VibWire-201-Pro has two sensor input ports. The spring loaded terminal of the Vibrating Wire Sensor Analyser posts enable fast connection of bare wires, The 5 pin port is used for the permanent recording operations.

VW201Cal Application Software
The VibWire-201 is supplied with free applications software that is used to assign the sensor calibration factors and the processing options to used for the presentation of results.
The User can assign a sensor name and location in order to aid the acquisition of measurements.
Sample Calibration Data Sheet
The Sensor Data sheet above shows the sensor Polynomial parameters that are to be used to convert the sensor frequency into SI Units.
A = -5.523368E-6 B = -0.7077797 C = 4957.505
The image below shows a sensor setup for the VibWire-201 using information shown in a sample Calibration Data Sheet for a Vibrating Wire Piezometer
This is a simple example on of how to use a calibration report to assign the Polynomial Calibration parameters used to calculate the the sensor output in SI Units. In this example taken from the calibration data sheet for a Vibrating Wire Piezometer the output SI units are of KPa. The same procedure is used regardless of the SI Unit output.
The calibration parameters have been assigned to a Sensor ID Type “PEIZO 10m KPa”
Process = 2 this ensures the VibWire-201 uses the E = AR2+ BR + C Formula
The VibWire-201 supports operations in Hz, Digits and Engineering SI Units, where Process Option 0 is Hz, 1 for Digits and 2 for SI Units as seen in the Calibration Data Sheet for a Vibrating Wire Piezometer.
Software Configuration
The VibWire-201 is configured by default to use the YSI4400 temperature sensor which is the most common type built into many vibrating wire sensors. The User can add additional temperature sensor types. Full Steinhart-Hart thermistor calculations are supported.
The image below shows the factory set TO parameters - T0 = 25 Degrees Celsius R0 = 3 K Beta = 3461
Expansion Unit
The MUX-16/32 expansion unit shown opposite, can be used with the VibWire-201 handheld vibrating wire sensor interface.
The expansion unit can be set to scan 16 x 4 wire, or 32 x 2 wire sensor inputs. The 32 x 2 wire inputs can be frequency or temperature signals. It is not possible to mix the sensors types in 32 channel mode,
The Channel Display shows the User which channel is being scanned.
Part Number: MUX-16/32
Q-Log Software
The VibWire 201 Pro is integrated into the Keynes Controls Q-LOG software.
Our Q-LOG software runs on the widely recognised Windows Operating system, you have the ability to calibrate, adjust instrument network address, and effortlessly display measurements on a series of panel meters and charts. Conveniently store results in text based files for quick analysis in spreadsheets.
Our highly chemical sensors provide chemical concentration and local temperature readings in SI units (Engineering units). Customize the SI units based on your instrument's capabilities, including support for multiple units like turbidity sensors, all easily managed through the device setup.
Experience the convenience of Q-LOG, enabling you to effortlessly make and install calibration values into your instrument.
Connect our Fluorometers directly to SDI12, RS485, and MODBUS networks, leveraging the versatility of Q-LOG to acquire measurements on SDI12 and RS485 networks. SDI12 communications are perfectly suited for seamless integration with data loggers, while RS485 is ideal for larger-scale network applications. Maximize efficiency by simultaneously testing all sensors of a multi-parameter instrument prior to deployment.
For added convenience, the optional USB interface allows you to comprehensively test and validate the sensors' operations, ensuring seamless integration into your own application and trust in the performance and accuracy of our multi-parameter systems!
