Single Sensor deployment by Keynes Controls

All of the ARGES Water quality sensors can be deployed individually, or as a group in a multiparameter housing.

Connection to a Display Unit or Windows PC

  • Equipment required.
  • ARGES Sensor
  • USB-SDI12-AG1 media converter
  • Recording Device

The media converter connects and powers an ARGES sensors directly from a USB port. So long as the storage device runs the Windows software then the QLOG software supplied with all of Keynes controls sensors will operate.

  1. Connect the media converter to the PC USB port. The blue status indicator on the media converter will illuminate.
  2. Connect the network cable onto the sensor and secure with the red locking ring.
  3. Connect the network cable to media converter.
  4. Start-up the QLOG software. The User can observe results in charts, text and panel meter.

See Youtube video below which shows the software configuration for single sensor operation.

Single ARGES Fluorometer Deployment

The images below demonstrate how to prepare any of the ARGES submersible fluorometers for deployment for single sensor operation.

Make sure the shade cap is fitted onto any fluorometer that is being deployed as a single device.

The image opposite shows a single ARGES Fluorometer real-time results on the handheld display.

The sensor plugs into the USB port using the media converter

Make sure the sensor shade cap is fitted onto the fluorometer and the sensor when deployed is in shade, such as by a bridge or below trees.

The Readout unit can be configured to display any, or all of the sensor parameters.

Selective ION Sensor Deployment

The selective ion sensors can be directly deployed into the water source. No shade cap required

Make sure the sensor head has been cleaned before deployment, ideally in distilled water but tap water can be used.
