Sonde Multiparameter Housing by Keynes Controls
The Sonde Multiparameter Housing by Keynes Controls are used to group the ARGES range of chemical sensors and brush unit to form a dedicated measurement solution. Any of the ARGES range of sensor can be fitted into any port. A submersible brush unit can be fitted to clean the fluorometer optics between measurements.
The Sonde Multiparameter Housing by Keynes Controls shown on this page have been designed to simplify real-time monitoring applications by creating a dedicated measurement solution.
Connect the multiparameter measurement system directly to SDI12, RS485 and MODBUS networks.
SONDE Deployment
The Sonde Multiparameter Housing by Keynes Controls is made from Solid PVC block for strength and durability. It has Eye-bolts that can be screwed into the top in order to fasten a strain-relief cable which is used to secure the sensor housing into position on deployment.
Each sensor is locked into the Sonde Multiparameter Housing by Keynes Controls can then be directly connected via a single signal cable to industry standard SDI12 Data Recorders for Web based applications, and on to RS485 and MODBUS networks. Each sensor has a unique address enabling them to be easily identified and activated across the specified network.
The housing is manufactured from PVC making it hard wearing and safe for operations in the harshest of environments.
Quality Measurements
All of the ARGES sensor range store the device serial number and calibration date internally. This information can be accessed on demand using the simple SDI12 industry commands. The serial number for the sensor is factory set and cannot be adjusted.
All of the Keynes Controls multiparameter SONDE housings can be fitted with a submersible brush unit for cleaning the fluorometer optics prior to a measurement operation. This action is recommended for highly turbid and polluted waterways.
The video above shows the brush unit in operation. The angle of sweep can be user defined in the brush unit setuo.

Multiparameter Measurement Applications
The image opposite shows the sensor head for a 7 port multiparameter housing containing a range of fluorometers and selective ion sensors. There is no limit to the combination of sensors that can be combined within the housing to create a multiparameter solution.
Sensor Operations
Each of the chemical sensors can be individually configured and used for measurements. The sensor can make measurements separately or concurrently depending only upon the User configuration. Keynes recommend that the Fluorometers make independent measurements so that the excitation of the sensor does not contaminate the results from a similar adjacent sensor.
The 3 and 7 Port multiparameter sensors are supplied with a hardened waterproof case to make the complete kit easy to handle, support and deploy.
The case has space for additional sensors, the optional brush unit and a USB dongle. The dongle is used to connect the multiparameter housings to a Windows PC.
Accessories
Keynes Controls manufactures a range of accessories that can be used to connect the ARGES chemical sensor range.
The option USB media converters can be used to connect a multiparameter instrument to a a PC for configuration, testing and measurement operations.
All of the chemical sensors are supported in the free issue QLOG applications software that is offered with the this product range.
The ARGES Sensor range, seamlessly integrates into the Q-LOG Applications Software.
Our Q-LOG software runs on the widely recognized Windows Operating system, you have the ability to calibrate, adjust instrument network address, and effortlessly display measurements on a series of panel meters and charts. Conveniently store results in text based files for quick analysis in spreadsheets.
Our highly accurate chemical sensors provide chemical concentrations and local temperature directly readings in SI units (Engineering units). Customise the SI units based on your instrument's capabilities, including support for multiple units like turbidity sensors, all easily managed through the free applications software.
Experience the convenience of Q-LOG, enabling you to effortlessly make measurements from your instrument.
Connect our chemical sensors directly to SDI12, RS485, and MODBUS networks, leveraging the versatility of Q-LOG to acquire measurements on SDI12 and RS485 networks. SDI12 communications are perfectly suited for seamless integration with data loggers, while RS485 is ideal for larger-scale network applications. Maximise efficiency by simultaneously testing all sensors of a multi-parameter instrument prior to deployment. MODBUS operations allow direct connect to many 3rd party SCADA systems.
For added convenience, the optional USB interface allows you to test a complete ARGES package directly from a PC USB port without any external power supply operations. comprehensively test and validate the sensors' operations, ensuring seamless integration into your own application.
